On a tour of discovery at the Munich Outdoor Sports Festival

14.09.2021 - Olympiapark München GmbH

Vaccination bus makes a stop at the sports festival - ticket for tower ascent for the first 50 vaccinated people
In its almost 50-year history, the Olympic Stadium has been home to many different sports - but rarely so many at once: next Sunday, 19 September 2021, the spacious visitor level of the Olympic Stadium will be the venue for the fifth Munich Outdoor Sports Festival with a colourful range of diverse offerings. From parcour to archery, from ski jumping to a balance course. In previous years, visitors of all ages have enjoyed a day full of unique (sports) experiences at the Outdoor Sports Festival, which is part of the Munich Sports Festival family. And we're hoping that will be true in 2021 too. For the fifth time, the Department of Education and Sports of the City of Munich (RBS) and Olympiapark München GmbH are inviting all sports enthusiasts to find out more about the attractive range of outdoor sports available and to discover them individually for themselves. After the forced break in 2020, the Olympic Park will once again be the venue for the popular outdoor sports spectacle: this time, however, with the Olympic Stadium as the big stage for all disciplines to try out and participate in - and with free admission! The sports, games and fun start at 10:00 (until 18:00). From then on, visitors can try their hand at the many sports available. Who will reach unimagined heights when climbing the high ropes course or on the bouldering block? Who will hit the bull's eye with their bow and arrow? Who will set the most beautiful telemark in ski jumping? And who will become a table tennis star? A colourful blend of activities for an entertaining day at the stadium. If you want a bird's eye view of all this - no problem. With the tent roof tour, you can get an overview of the stadium and the Olympic grounds from high above. And of course there will be flying again - this time over the pitch of the Olympic Stadium, from the edge of the tent to the back straight. A guaranteed unforgettable experience. Important: there are still a few places available for both the tent roof tour and the flight with the Flying Fox. All information about the raffle and the conditions of participation can be found at www.muenchner-sportfestivals.de In line with the motto: "Be part of it and discover your sport", a large number of sports partners, including clubs, associations and institutions, will once again be offering hands-on programmes, demonstrations and infotainment. Once again, the Munich radio station Radio Arabella will be there, with its presenter Uli Florl leading the way through the day in a charming, expert and entertaining manner. To ensure safe and carefree sports at the Munich Outdoor Sports Festival, special hygiene regulations including the 3G rule and mandatory masks will apply this year. And one more important note: the vaccination bus will make a stop at the Munich Outdoor Sports Festival and will be available to visitors on Sunday, 19 September, from 11:00 to 17:00 on Hans-Jochen-Vogel-Platz near the Olympic Stadium's north entrance. The vaccines available are BioNTech, Moderna and Johnsson & Johnsson. AND: in recognition of their important step in helping to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, Olympiapark München GmbH is giving the first 50 vaccinated people a ticket for an ascent of the Olympic Tower.
