At the third Mental Health Rocks Run, hundreds of people come together to show that mental health is not a taboo subject – it is alive, it moves us and it connects us.
Mental health is often associated with seriousness and stigma in society. The Mental Health Rocks Run deliberately sets a different tone: positive, lively, accessible. Running is not only good for the body – its positive effects on mental health have been scientifically proven. The MHRR brings the topic out of its niche and into the mainstream – visible, colourful and for everyone.
Running, walking, rolling – everyone is welcome
Whether jogging, walking, rollerblading or rolling – every form of movement is welcome at the MHRR. Dogs are also allowed! On a 5-kilometre loop (either once or twice) through the Olympic Park, each kilometre has its own motto: from MeetUrCrowd to Mindful Mile to CheercCrowd – community, gratitude, mindfulness and pure joy included.
More than just a run: a whole day dedicated to mental health
In addition to the run, visitors can look forward to a varied programme of events along the Mental Health Mile from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with stands, hands-on activities and plenty of inspiration. New this year: the Munich Cowboys Cheerleaders will be cheering on the runners, HOLA PAPAYA Tattoo Atelier will be offering mental health tattoos at a special price, and AOK Bayern will be inviting visitors to try electromyography muscle tone measurement. Sports presenter Manuel Hammer will be hosting the programme on stage.
A strong community behind the event
Initiated by Dominique and Lasse from Mental Health Crowd – which has been campaigning for a more open and normal approach to mental health since 2015 – MHRR has built up an impressive community in a short space of time. This year's participants include:
