The mid-twenties singer sees music as her job, and she takes it very seriously. How fortunate for those who can't get enough of her. Driven by diligence and a passion for storytelling, she has been providing her fans with a steady stream of super hits since 2022. Most recently, there was ‘Fata Morgana’ – gold in Germany! – and ‘Wenn das Liebe ist,’ which, like most of her songs, landed in the top 3 of the German singles charts, as did her debut album “Glas” from 2023 and her EP ‘Farbenblind’ just one year later.
Now, this autumn, her second studio album ‘Ich lieb mich, ich lieb mich nicht’ (I love myself, I don't love myself) is being released – a powerful, loud album, a headless one too, that spells new beginnings, tempo and, above all, fun. A lot has happened in recent years – both professionally and privately – which has forced her to grow up. Realising how quickly life can change has preoccupied her a lot. This resulted in lyrics about loss and abandonment, but also in lyrics that sought to convey a sense of lightness. She increasingly understands that her records are always a reflection of her state of mind.
Anyone who has followed the musician since her first German-language song release in 2021 (‘Neben mir’) and her rise to become an influential artist who now nourishes different generations with her subtle and light-footed lyrics set to mostly danceable but always vibey beats knows how diverse her sound is, which always hits the mark with her verbal essence. It's as if she couldn't possibly disappoint her loyal fans, whose numbers grow year after year. And that's despite the fact that the singer moves fluidly between genres, from synths to guitars, piano to brass and so much more. They forgive her everything, or rather, they love her for everything. Because she makes music without ever betraying herself or straying from her own path, because she walks her path like a great musical playground.
From the very beginning, she vowed to make music freely, to do whatever she wanted. Of course, she had to work hard to develop this self-confidence, especially to free herself from her own and others' expectations. Perhaps today we can say that this diversity, which also characterises her wildness, is at the same time her stringency.
